Commercial Construction Equipment

Commercial construction equipment is used by professional carpenters, brick layers, and plumbers, to build business properties, and to build residential properties. Commercial construction equipment can include the hand tools that many of these professionals use on a daily basis, and it may also be the heavy machinery that is used.

Commercial construction is one of the main businesses in the world. The numbers of workers that do commercial construction outnumber almost all other work fields because there are so many different categories that fit under the general heading of this type of construction work.

A professional carpenter will have screwdrivers in his tool box to help him in his job. There will also be table saws, skill saws, miter saws, jig saws, reciprocal saws, drills, drill bits, tape measures, speed squares, chalk boxes, plumb lines, and carpenter pencils at every contractor’s establishment. Most of these tools are also in the garages and storage buildings of the majority of men in the world. Most men are capable of doing at least some carpentry work and many men do this type of work as a hobby to help them relax and forget their troubles.

Workers that build portable buildings, carports, and metal shop buildings, will have all of the same tools that you would find a wood workers shop. These workers need reciprocal saws, table saws, circular saws, jig saws, tape measures, plumb bobs, chalk lines, speed squares, levels, and nibblers, air powered shears, and screw guns to be able to do their jobs.

An electrician works mainly with wire and the connecting elements of the wire, but will have many of the same tools that the regular carpenter has. The electrician will need a hammer, a screwdriver set, a tape measure, pliers, electrical tape, wire cutters, wire strippers, and they also need saws to help them do the work they need to do.

People who hang sheet rock on walls and ceilings are not carpenters, and yet they construct the interior walls in buildings. They have to have most of the saws, hand tools, and equipment the regular carpenter has, plus they will need banjos for applying the sheet rock tape and mud, and keyhole saws for cutting circles into the sheet rock. They will need mud knives and putty knives to apply the joint compound, and these are items you will also find in the tool boxes of your painters, some of your plumbers will need these items, and the people that install stucco.

Large construction equipment like backhoes, scissor lifts, boom trucks, and cranes are used by specialized construction workers. Most of the large equipment requires the operator to be licensed and certified to operate the equipment. The construction of high rise buildings requires that the workers have equipment to help them lift materials and to hold materials stable while they work.

Construction equipment is usually noisy to operate and creates a mess when it is through. The men and women that use this equipment are capable individuals that can often do several different jobs.
